Books Between Kids Awarded Point of Light

November 19, 2013 by NVo

Earlier this month, Books Between Kids’ founders, Sandra Ahlhorn and Amy Barnes, were recognized for their efforts. A Daily Point of Light Award was presented to them by former First Lady Barbara Bush and Neil Bush, Chairman of Points of Light and the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. After the luncheon, volunteers from One America and JP Morgan Chase, along with students from Sharpstown International High School came out to the Books Between Kids warehouse to see what we do and how we do it, and we all had a terrific time while readying the books for their future owners!

We were so excited by the media attention we received – check out some of the coverage on our Newsroom page.
