Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation Matching Grant!

November 19, 2013 by NVo

Since we are doing a little “name-dropping”, this seems like the perfect opportunity to tell everyone that when you make a donation to Books Between Kids, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar, thanks to a $9,000 matching grant recently awarded to our organization by the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation (BBHLF). BBHLF has embarked upon a new initiative to develop a community action blueprint to fight illiteracy in Houston. We are honored to have been selected for this matching gift.

The BBHLF Matching Gift Program will match all individual gifts, in an effort to help us with our ongoing operational expenses. Click here to donate, double your gift through this matching program, and help Houston’s children grow their very own libraries!

We are grateful for a community that donates their books to new owners and volunteers their time to help us operate. We’re grateful for the school staff and community partners we work alongside to get our books in the arms of kids who otherwise would have nothing fun and age-appropriate to read at home.
