BBK Adds Second Drop Point

February 26, 2014 by NVo

Chomping at the bit to get started on your spring cleaning? Ready to clear off some bookshelves and need to know what to do with those books your kids have outgrown? Well, we have the perfect, win-win solution! Gain some space by donating those books to Books Between Kids, and we will put those books into the hands of a deserving Houston child this summer!

Donating books has just become more convenient than ever with an additional drop point!

We are thrilled to announce that Blue Willow Bookshop, located at 14532 Memorial, has agreed to be the second Houston-area drop point for Books Between Kids. You can drop your donations off during regular business hours, Monday–Saturday. Blue Willow (http://www.bluewillowbookshop.com) is a fantastic indie bookshop for readers of all ages, with knowledgeable staff who are happy to help and make recommendations if you need them. We are honored that they have decided to help us with our cause in this way! So, here’s the perfect motivation to get to that spring cleaning and clear out all those books your kids have outgrown – then drop in at Blue Willow to drop them off and restock those bookshelves with new titles all at the same time!

Inside the loop? Our original drop point is the place to go! Speedy Printing, 3433 West Alabama, Suite C, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As always, we are looking for gently used books, appropriate for pre-K through 5th grade children. We donate everything from story books to chapter books! Especially needed are learn to read books (leveled readers), non-fiction books and spanish language books (for pre-K through 2nd grade). Go to our Give Books page to see our Book Quality Guidelines.

Interested in your place of business becoming a drop point for gently-used children’s book donations? We are looking to add drop points all over Houston. If you would like to learn more, contact bookdrive@booksbetweenkids.org.

As we reflect on 2022, the word that comes to mind As we reflect on 2022, the word that comes to mind is “grateful”.

We are grateful for a community that donates their books to new owners and volunteers their time to help us operate. We’re grateful for the school staff and community partners we work alongside to get our books in the arms of kids who otherwise would have nothing fun and age-appropriate to read at home.
